M/P's tubular valve is a low cost, three-way unit, with a sliding sleeve that enables cutting and controlling air passage. A sliding lock keeps this valve in the closed position; for increased safety, the valve can be kept in such condition by using a padlock. To be easily seen and for safety reasons, M/P's tubular valve is offered in the yellow-red colors.
This sliding valve resists against accidental handling thanks to its unique teflon coating, which allows a firm and smooth motion, even when kept in the same position during long time periods.
When opened, the air flows freely from the valve's inlet to outlet; for exhaustion, however, the flow is interrupted (see figure A).
This M/P valve was not designed to be locked in the open position; therefore, it can be closed whenever desired.
In the closed position, the air supply is blocked at the inlet; under pressure, the air downstream the valve will be expelled to the atmosphere, causing the decompression of the entire system after such valve (see figure B). In this position, the valve can be locked through an additional sliding lock, and kept in this condition with the use of a padlock.
