M.Shimizu support ABEA (Brazilian Association of supported employment)
Still in preparation and subsequent discussion at the Technical Chamber of Employability of Persons with Disabilities (CTEPcD), the M.Shimizu, 100% Brazilian company over 40 years in the market, is a pioneer in sponsoring this project which aims, among other propositions, implement methodologies and specific policies for businesses when in the act of hiring persons with disabilities (mental or motor).
Many people with disabilities want to work, they send resumes, enroll in employment agencies, conduct professional courses, talk with friends and relatives, but despite the best efforts, they can not have access to a job using conventional methods. Prejudices, barriers and difficulties that lie in the way society is structured in the labor market that they are able to prevent a job and keep it up and advance professionally.
It is from this background that M.Shimizu proudly sponsors the initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through the Department of Science and Technology for Social Inclusion (SECIS), with support from CNPq, in partnership with the Institute Social Technology (ITSBRASIL) so that guidelines are agreed upon and all disabled people have access to working conditions in the wider spheres of pluralistic and performances of companies under Brazilian soil.

What is Supported Employment?
The Supported Employment (EA) was born more than thirty (30) years in the United States as a methodology for integration of people with disabilities in the formal labor market, whichever is later also for people in situations of social exclusion with special difficulty finding a job.
Briefly, and in general, can say that the EA is to prepare people interested in a job through personal assistance of skilled professionals, EA technicians called labor coaches, or consultants. The methodology of the EA analyzes the potential and the profile of the unemployed person, in order to compare them with jobs and job requirements of a company, aiming to find or create specific vacancy that benefits both sides.
The Supported Employment is not characterized by criteria merely welfare or altruistic type, but the professionalism and respect for labor legislation; the employer must be satisfied with the quality and productivity of work performed by the employee, as the latter should be pleased with the activity and working conditions, which must occur in a situation of equality with their fellow work.
The EA includes a set of services and supports are denominated, which are given to the following characteristics of the methodology of the EA:
o Inserts customized employment through work and monitoring of a consultant or technician throughout the EA process. Initially, you should do the consultant or technician EA is to know very well the person, their skills, their knowledge, their tastes, their potential, the type of job that person would like to do, etc.;
• Search for a suitable potential and abilities of the person for a specific job;
• Contract formal employment and fair wages;
• Training and coaching within the workplace, with the support of the consultant or EA technician ; when it comes to EA by first inserting the person on the job, they give the practical knowledge, that is, the know-how necessary for the person to performs tasks. Note that is the inverse process of making a conventional manner.
• Development of the necessary support. The consultant or Supported Employment technician evelops procedures, resources and helps make it easier to carry out the work of the person; the worker may have the help and support needed in their natural surroundings. It also seeks to identify the universal accessibility supports, whether architectural or assistive technology products needed.
• progressive withdrawal of the consultant or technician in Supported Employment, until you get the desired autonomy of the person at work; periodic monitoring is necessary in order to keep the job and career advancement.
The EA consists of a clearly defined, consolidated and institutionalized in various countries in Europe and the United States, the country where it was born methodology. In terms of theoretical basis and evidence of effectiveness, studies and research has solidly established. Accumulates more than thirty (30) years of experience in these countries, developing quality standards and created entities of representation, articulation and dissemination of the methodology. Several countries have established even after several years of practice, public policy, a due legal regulation and stable forms of funding.
