Awarded by Volkswagen in the Commercial Excellence Category
has announced on Wednesday, September 5, the winners of the Supply Award, prize that it confers on its suppliers - 170 of them attended the ceremony. The award refers to companies that had the best performances in 2008.
Based on the ratio of quality and logistics versus cost and technology, VW awarded thirteen companies in seven categories:
logistics, quality, product development, sustainability, post-sales, commercial excellence in purchasing products, general purchases and best supplier of the year.
Currently, the manufacturer has about five hundred suppliers of productive materials and 2 thousand of non-productive material. The winning companies were Denso - also chosen the Best of the Year, Bosch, Inylbra, Dupont, GKN, GME General equipments,
M. Shimizu Elétrica e Pneumática
, ZF, NSK, Takata-Petri, Expresso Mirassol, Streelcoat and Umicore.
In 2009 the cost of VW with its suppliers was close to R$ 10 billion, and the company is expected to expand it to R$ 11 billion in 2009 also due to the inclusion of new equipment in its models.
In the classification of its partners, VW keeps the majority of category A, formed by companies that reach over 90% of performance. Providers with performance around 85% are in category B, and the providers under 80% are in C.
The vice president of purchasing for South America, Alexander Seitz, remembers that in the latter category are a maximum of ten companies that are in process and follow-up of the VW team: "We do not overlook these companies."
